Light & Fluffy Waffles

These light and fluffy waffles are crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. Beaten egg whites give them their signature texture, making them perfect for a classic waffle breakfast.

Light & Fluffy Waffles

Light and fluffy waffles made with whipped egg whites for an airy texture and crisp exterior.

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 large egg yolks beaten (reserve whites, see below)
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 3 large egg whites beaten until stiff

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
In a separate bowl, combine the egg yolks and milk. Stir into the dry ingredients until just combined.
    Stir in the vegetable oil.
Gently fold in the beaten egg whites until just incorporated. Do not overmix.
Preheat and lightly grease a waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Pour batter onto the hot waffle iron and cook until golden brown and crisp.
    Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Folding in the egg whites gently helps keep the waffles light and airy.
Batter should be slightly lumpy—avoid overmixing.
Serve with butter, syrup, or fresh fruit.
