Strawberry Syrup
This homemade strawberry syrup is bright, fresh, and lightly sweetened. Made with real strawberries, it’s perfect for pancakes, waffles, French toast, or even ice cream.
Strawberry Syrup
Ingredients
- 1 pint fresh strawberries blended
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 Tablespoons light corn syrup
- 1 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon butter
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the blended strawberries, sugar, corn syrup, lemon juice, and butter.Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently.Boil for 1 minute, then remove from heat.Skim any foam from the surface if needed.Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Syrup will thicken slightly as it cools.For a smoother syrup, strain through a fine mesh sieve after cooking.Store leftovers in the refrigerator and reheat gently before serving.
