A fresh strawberry syrup made with blended strawberries and cooked briefly on the stovetop.
Ingredients
1pintfresh strawberriesblended
3/4cup granulated sugar
2Tablespoonslight corn syrup
1 1/2teaspoonlemon juice
1/2teaspoonbutter
Instructions
In a medium saucepan, combine the blended strawberries, sugar, corn syrup, lemon juice, and butter.Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently.Boil for 1 minute, then remove from heat.Skim any foam from the surface if needed.Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Syrup will thicken slightly as it cools.For a smoother syrup, strain through a fine mesh sieve after cooking.Store leftovers in the refrigerator and reheat gently before serving.
