Muddy Buddies
A sweet and crunchy snack mix made with Chex cereal, peanut butter, chocolate, and powdered sugar. Perfect for any occasion!
Ingredients
- 9 cups rice or corn Chex cereal
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
Instructions
- Measure the cereal into a large bowl and set aside.In a microwave-safe bowl, microwave the chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter on high for 1 minute. Stir, then microwave for an additional 30 seconds or until the mixture can be stirred smooth.Stir in the vanilla extract.Pour the chocolate mixture over the cereal and stir gently to coat evenly.Transfer the coated cereal to a large plastic food storage bag. Add powdered sugar, seal the bag, and shake until well-coated.Spread the coated cereal on a waxed paper-lined surface to cool.
Notes
- Store the cooled Muddy Buddies in an airtight container for up to a week.You can also add some mix-ins like M&M’s or pretzels for extra crunch.
