Cheesy Garlic Breadsticks

These soft, golden Cheesy Garlic Breadsticks are made from a simple dough and topped with a buttery, garlicky coating and melted mozzarella. Ready in under an hour, they are perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water (110°F to 115°F)
  • 3 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 3 1/2-4 cups all-purpose flour

Toppings

  • 3 Tablespoons butter melted
  • 2 teaspoons garlic minced
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella
  • marinara for dipping

Instructions

  • In a large bowl or mixer, combine yeast, water, and sugar. Stir and let sit for 5 minutes to activate. Add olive oil, salt, and vinegar, then gradually add flour until dough is smooth and elastic.
Let dough rise in a warm place for about 20 minutes. Once it has doubled in size, punch down the dough and spread it out on a greased cookie sheet, about 1/3 inch thick.
Preheat the oven to 500°F. In a small bowl, mix melted butter with garlic. Brush this mixture over the dough.
Sprinkle with parmesan and mozzarella cheese evenly across the dough.
Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove from the oven and slice into breadsticks. Serve with marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • For a softer texture, allow the dough to rest longer before baking.
  • If you like a crunchier crust, let the breadsticks bake for a few more minutes, keeping an eye on them to avoid burning.
  • You can customize the topping with your favorite seasonings like oregano, parsley, or a pinch of red pepper flakes for added spice.
