Bean Dip
This Bean Dip is quick, flavorful, and perfect for a crowd. With a creamy base of pinto beans, chili powder, and cheese, it’s great for tacos, nachos, or served with chips.
Bean Dip
Ingredients
- 1 (16 ounce) can pinto beans
- 1 Tablespoon shortening
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 Tablespoon onions finely diced
- 3 Tablespoons green chilies finely diced
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 pound grated cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Blend together. In a large frying pan,, simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the desired consistency is reached.Serve warm as a dip or base for taco salad.
Notes
- You can add sour cream or cream cheese for extra creaminess.This dip can be made ahead and reheated before serving.
