This Bean Dip is quick, flavorful, and perfect for a crowd. With a creamy base of pinto beans, chili powder, and cheese, it’s great for tacos, nachos, or served with chips.

Bean Dip

A creamy bean dip with pinto beans, chili powder, cheese, and green chilies. Quick and easy for snacks or as a taco salad base.

Ingredients

  • 1 (16 ounce) can pinto beans
  • 1 Tablespoon shortening
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon onions finely diced
  • 3 Tablespoons green chilies finely diced
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 pound grated cheddar cheese

Instructions

  • Blend together. In a large frying pan,, simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the desired consistency is reached.
    Serve warm as a dip or base for taco salad.

Notes

  • You can add sour cream or cream cheese for extra creaminess.
    This dip can be made ahead and reheated before serving.
