A creamy bean dip with pinto beans, chili powder, cheese, and green chilies. Quick and easy for snacks or as a taco salad base.
Ingredients
1(16 ounce) canpinto beans
1Tablespoonshortening
1/2cupwater
1/8teaspoonblack pepper
1Tablespoononionsfinely diced
3Tablespoonsgreen chiliesfinely diced
1teaspoonchili powder
1/2poundgrated cheddar cheese
Instructions
Blend together. In a large frying pan,, simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the desired consistency is reached.Serve warm as a dip or base for taco salad.
Notes
You can add sour cream or cream cheese for extra creaminess.This dip can be made ahead and reheated before serving.
