Classic Cheese Ball

A classic cheese ball made with cream cheese, shredded cheese, and mild green chiles. Easy to prepare ahead and serve chilled with crackers or vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounce package cream cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 5 cups finely grated cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 (4 ounce) can chopped mild green chilies drained
  • garlic salt to taste
  • Chopped nuts, for coating (optional)

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, mix the cream cheese, salt, grated cheese, parsley, green chiles, and garlic salt until well combined and stiff.
    Shape the mixture into one large ball or several smaller balls.
    Roll in chopped nuts, if using, to coat the outside.
    Cover and refrigerate until firm.
    Serve chilled.

Notes

  • This cheese ball can be made up to 24 hours in advance and stored covered in the refrigerator.
    Chopped nuts are optional and can be omitted for nut-free serving.
    Serve with crackers, pretzels, or fresh vegetables.
