A simple marinade made with soy sauce, salad oil, 7UP, and garlic powder. Ideal for turkey, chicken, or pork, it’s perfect for grilling and full of savory flavors.
Ingredients
1cupsoy sauce
1cupvegetable oil
2cupslemon lime soda
1 1/2Tablespoonsgarlic powder
1 1/2Tablespoonshorseradish sauceoptional
Instructions
In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, salad oil, 7UP or Sprite, garlic powder, and horseradish sauce. Whisk together until well combined.Pour the marinade over boneless turkey steaks, chicken, or pork in a shallow dish or resealable plastic bag.Seal and refrigerate for overnight to allow the flavors to meld. When ready to cook, preheat your grill to medium-high heat.Grill the marinated meat for 5–7 minutes per side (or until cooked through).Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
If you prefer a less sweet marinade, you can reduce the amount of 7UP or Sprite.
For a stronger flavor, let the meat marinate for up to 24 hours.
This marinade works well for boneless chicken breasts, pork chops, or turkey steaks.
The Sanpete Marinade recipe, with the ingredients listed, should be enough to cover approximately:
2–3 lbs of meat (chicken, turkey, or pork)
This amount should be adequate for:
4–6 boneless chicken breasts
4–6 boneless turkey steaks
3–4 pork chops (depending on thickness)
You can adjust the marinade amount proportionally if you’re working with more or less meat. If you're marinating a larger quantity, I recommend doubling the marinade ingredients to ensure all the meat is evenly coated.
