This homemade Apple Syrup is lightly spiced, smooth, and perfect for drizzling over pancakes, waffles, or French toast. Made with apple juice and warm spices, it comes together quickly and adds cozy flavor to any breakfast.

Apple Syrup

A simple homemade apple syrup made with apple juice, sugar, and warm spices. Perfect for pancakes, waffles, and breakfast treats.

Ingredients

  • 1 Tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 cup apple juice
  • 4 teaspoons granulated sugar

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, whisk together the cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, apple juice, and sugar until smooth.
    Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and comes to a gentle boil.
    Reduce heat and simmer for 1–2 minutes, stirring, until the syrup is glossy and smooth.
    Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Syrup will continue to thicken slightly as it cools.
    Stir well before serving if the syrup sits for a bit.
    Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
    This syrup pairs especially well with pancakes, waffles, oatmeal, and French toast.
