Bisquick Substitute Baking Mix

Bisquick Substitute Baking Mix
Ingredients
- 6 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 Tablespoons baking powder
- 1 Tablespoon salt
- 1 cup vegetable shortening
Instructions
- Add the flour, baking powder, and salt to the bowl of a food processor. Pulse the ingredients for about 15 seconds until well combined.Add the vegetable shortening and pulse the processor again until the mixture resembles cornmeal.Transfer the homemade Bisquick mix into an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 months.
Notes
- To make it dairy-free: Use vegetable oil or a plant-based shortening instead of the butter or lard in traditional Bisquick.
- This homemade Bisquick mix is great for biscuits, pancakes, waffles, and many other recipes. Just substitute it in any recipe that calls for store-bought Bisquick.
