Hot Fudge Topping

A quick and simple homemade hot fudge topping made with unsweetened chocolate, evaporated milk, and butter. Ideal for ice cream or any dessert.

Ingredients

  • 2 squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 2 Tablespoons butter
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • In a saucepan over low heat, melt the chocolate and butter together, stirring occasionally.
    Stir in the sugar and evaporated milk, cooking the mixture over low heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture thickens.
    Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
    Allow the fudge topping to cool before serving over your favorite desserts.

Notes

  • If you want a thicker sauce, let it cook a little longer.
    Store any leftover hot fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
