A simple, fresh lemonade made with real lemons, sugar, and water for a smooth, balanced flavor that’s easy to make and perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
1cupsugar(or substitute)
5cupswater
5-6fresh lemonssqueezed (or about 1 cup)
Instructions
In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and 1 cup of the water. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly. In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice and the remaining 4 cups of cold water.Pour the sugar mixture into the pitcher and stir until fully combined.Taste and adjust with additional water or lemon juice if desired.Chill before serving, or serve immediately over ice.
Notes
Using freshly squeezed lemon juice is key to the smooth, balanced flavor. The sugar dissolves more evenly when heated with water, preventing a grainy texture. This lemonade can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.Adjust sweetness by adding a little more water or lemon juice to taste. You can also add fresh fruits and cream. We love strawberries and vanilla coffee creamer. *I like to use allulose to sweeten. If this is something you are choosing, use about 1 1/2 to sweeten.
