Melt the Butter and Chocolate:In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and unsweetened chocolate, stirring frequently to prevent burning. Once melted, remove from heat and let it cool slightly.Prepare the Brownie Batter:In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs until light and fluffy.Stir in the melted butter and chocolate mixture and peppermint extract until fully combined.In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and chopped pecans (if using). Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring just until incorporated.Bake the Brownies:Pour the brownie batter into a greased and floured 9x13-inch baking pan. Spread the batter evenly.Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan.Prepare the Mint Icing:In a separate bowl, combine the butter, powdered sugar, and peppermint extract. Gradually add the canned milk (or any milk you prefer) and mix until smooth and spreadable.Frost the Brownies:Once the brownies have cooled, spread the mint icing evenly over the top.
