1/3cupvegetable shortening
1/2cupgranulated sugar
1large egg
1 1/2cupall-purpose flour
1 1/2teaspoonbaking powder

1/2cupgranulated sugar
1 1/2teaspoonground cinnamon
3Tablespoonbutter
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line muffin cups with paper liners.Cream the shortening and sugar in a large bowl until smooth and fluffy. Add the egg and beat well.Mix dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.Combine wet and dry ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, until fully combined.Prepare the topping: In a small bowl, combine the butter, sugar and cinnamon for the topping.Spoon the batter into the muffin cups, filling them about halfway.Top each muffin with a generous amount of the cinnamon-sugar mixture.Bake for 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
