Ingredients
1(6 oz.) pkgcherry jello
2cupsboiling water
1can cherry pie filling
1large cancrushed pineapple
1cupchopped nutsoptional
8 ouncescream cheese
1cupsourcream
1cuppowdered sugar
Instructions
Dissolve the cherry jello in the boiling water. Stir in the pineapple, cherries, and nuts (if using).Pour the mixture into a 9x13-inch pan and let it set in the fridge.In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add the sour cream and powdered sugar and mix until well combined.Spread the cream cheese mixture over the top of the set jello.Refrigerate for 1 hour or until firm, then serve chilled.
Notes
This salad can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days.
For extra sweetness, you can add a little sugar to the jello mixture before setting it.
If you prefer a thicker layer of cream cheese topping, you can double the cream cheese and sour cream mixture.
